Hot stamping
- Embossing
- Stamping/Embossing/Deckle edging
The process
- Hot stamping consists in transfering a
metallic or colored pigmentated film on paper using heat
which acts on a thermofusible adhesive.
- The technique consists of heat pressing
the film between the sheet of paper and the die representing
your design.
- The die used for hot stamping is made up
chemically, in relief, starting from a negative film, emulsion
up.
- The films can be metallic (gold, silver,
copper...), pigmentated matt or shiny, holographic, pearly,
transparent or in color (including white).
A few relevant details
- Metallic hot stamping (gold, silver, copper...)
is completely opaque: it is therefore unnecessary to “drop-out”
your graphics in order to avoid register problems.
- Some tests could prove necessary on certain
papers, on lamination or in certain cases of fine printing.
- Hot stamping color charts are extended
without however covering the whole Pantone range.
- Color charts are available upon request.
- The maximum size of the press sheet is
25” x 35”.
